"根本" is used in a negative sentence to make the negative more strongly emphatic.

不過…罷了(only; just)
“不過…罷了” refers to a scope or range, and indicates that something is as unimportant as possible.
我只不過把書看一看罷了,沒有讀得很懂。
我昨天根本沒有運動,只不過走了幾步罷了。
一…就(once; as soon as)
“一…就” indicates that some extent is reached or result obtained once the action in question has taken place.
看書時候一不注意就會睡著。
他不能開車因為他一開車就會害怕。
結果(as a result; in the end; finally)
This is used in the second clause and means "consequently" or "as a result".
他說要寄給我很多書,結果都沒來。
我弟弟的老師讓他做五頁作業,結果他只做了四頁作業。
便(then)
This is used like "就", but more often appears in written language.
因為他很累,他一做功課便睡著了。
只要他做功課便可以打電動玩具。
以至(so…that...; as a result)
“以至” is used (with "於" or without "於") in the second clause of a sentence and indicates a result caused by the previous situation. 
那個房字很漂亮,以至每個人都想去看一看。
他覺得做功課沒有意思,以至於他睡著了。
弄,搞(do; make)
"弄" and "搞" are special verbs, which can substitute for various other verbs. Their meanings often change according to the different objects they take.
他做課時一不注意就會弄錯答案。
有很多人,因為喜歡數學,會搞數學的課外活動。
